Our Network Operations Centre \(NOC\) identified a degradation affecting our Digital ID, Identity Verification, and In-Branch Verification \(IBV\) services. A prompt investigation revealed the root cause to be a temporary fault within our network management systems. This issue resulted in a brief period of degraded performance for a number of our users. Our infrastructure team has since resolved the fault, and all services have been fully restored to normal operations. We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience or disruption this incident may have caused. A comprehensive post-incident review is under way to identify system improvements and prevent future recurrences.

Our investigation determined the root cause was an unexpected issue with a load balancer, which caused our services to become temporarily unavailable. ### **Timeline of Impact** During the incident, customers may have experienced errors and been unable to access Yoti services during the following periods: * **14:47 – 15:06 UTC** * **15:48 – 15:56 UTC** Although our Infrastructure team quickly resolved the primary problem, we continued to see minor errors affecting IPv6 traffic. Our Infrastructure and Product teams quickly resolved the issue, and fully restored the service back to normal. This unprecedented demand led to a substantial increase in latency across our backend services, causing disruption for our users. Customers would have experienced slower response times, and approximately 4.5-5% of users may have encountered errors during this period. The root cause was identified as a sharp increase in service usage on Yoti’s internal network, to mitigate against this impact and to restore performance we rapidly scaled up our services to include a secondary datacenter to help alleviate the latency issues. ‌ We apologise for any inconvenience this outage has caused our customers and we are committed to ensuring the stability and reliability of our services.
