    Several DOE locations are experiencing significant packet loss due to a major fiber cut upstream from the customer sites, causing intermittent issues. Field teams are on-site and working on splicing for repairs.     The fiber was spliced on both ends without restoring the upstream path. The initial reburns on the repaired fibers did not bring levels within spec, and the splice team is traveling to the other end of the new cable to perform fault isolation and troubleshoot for restoration. We are awaiting an ETR and will remain engaged with field teams until all alarms and services have been restored.

    Local fiber provider reports this is an emergency maintenance. 96 ct Fiber cable along the rail was cut by unpermitted digging. This cable is sitting on the side of RR tracks, and we need to get it underground as soon as possible in order to avoid an additional outage. This will require RR support so we cannot cancel once onsite. The existing fiber will have to be cut and pull a new 96ct. Services should be restored by 06:00.
