Notice September 29, 2026 Resolved — API service disruption 16m API Server

Started Sep 29, 2026, 11:00 AM UTC· resolved Sep 29, 2026, 11:16 AM UTC

  1. resolved Sep 29, 2026, 07:06 PM UTC

Impact window: Tuesday 29 September 2026, 11:00–11:16 AM ET (15:00–15:16 UTC), approximately 16 minutes. What happened: An internal message processing backlog caused our API service to stop responding to requests. During the affected window, API requests either timed out or returned errors. Our web portal was not affected. Resolution: Service was fully restored at 11:16 AM ET and has operated normally since. Data integrity: No customer data was lost or corrupted. If you had requests fail during this window, we recommend confirming whether they completed before resubmitting — a small number may have been processed successfully without a response being returned. Next steps: We have identified the cause and are implementing additional monitoring and safeguards to reduce the risk of recurrence.

Minor May 11, 2026 504 Gateway Timeout errors and elevated API response times 1d 19h API Server

Started May 11, 2026, 06:50 PM UTC· resolved May 13, 2026, 02:00 PM UTC

  1. investigating May 11, 2026, 06:50 PM UTC

Our engineering team has been actively investigating the intermittent 504 Gateway Timeout errors and elevated API response times observed over the past several days. We have identified contributing factors related to how our platform scales capacity during periods of elevated request volume, and we are rolling out staged infrastructure improvements — including load balancer and auto-scaling adjustments — to reduce the likelihood of recurrence during peak load. Service remains operational, and we are monitoring closely. We will follow up here once the initial round of changes is in place.

  2. monitoring May 12, 2026, 01:13 PM UTC

Update: Changes were implemented last night related to the previously identified issues and performance over the past several hours has shown improvement. We will continue to closely monitor system performance, particularly during morning scale-up and evening scale-down periods, to ensure stability.

  3. resolved May 13, 2026, 02:00 PM UTC

We identified the primary cause of the recent instability and 504 errors as related to a core messaging component within our platform. Our team has implemented adjustments to both code and infrastructure, and the issue is currently resolved. We have observed some intermittent spikes during periods when the system scales up or down (typically overnight), but these are minor and not indicative of ongoing instability. We are continuing to monitor performance closely and have initiated planning for longer-term improvements to further enhance stability and scalability.

A fix has been implemented and we are monitoring the issue.

  10. monitoring Nov 20, 2025, 08:28 PM UTC

On Friday, Nov 14, Carequality updated their directory and added geolocation coordinates for a significant number of existing endpoints. Similarly, on Monday, Nov 17, eHealth Exchange implemented the same type of directory update. With these updates, many endpoints that previously lacked coordinates suddenly became eligible for geolocation-based, radius-driven searches. Health Gorilla’s default radius settings remained in place, and the system began to query a much larger number of newly visible endpoints—resulting in a roughly 10x increase in query volume. This sudden increase led to the latency issues observed by our P360 users. As an immediate mitigation, Health Gorilla reduced the search radius across all clients. This significantly lowers the number of endpoints queried while focusing searches on the most relevant locations, especially now that geolocation data is more complete and accurate. We will continue to closely monitor system performance and adjust as needed.

  11. resolved Nov 21, 2025, 09:24 PM UTC

Systems appear to be back to normal, and overall performance has stabilized. The recent latency issues were caused by large directory updates from Carequality on Nov 14 and eHealth Exchange on Nov 17. We mitigated the issue by reducing the search radius across all clients. This lowers the number of endpoints queried and keeps searches focused on the most relevant locations now that the geolocation data is more complete. At this time, the system is performing normally, and Health Gorilla is actively monitoring to ensure continued stability.
