MOREnet Outage History

Fiber fault located (near Neosho, MO) and is in the process of being repaired (spliced). Also, includes a "large piece of equipment" which covers a signifcant portion of Missouri. Due to the type of damage and repair efforts needed, ETR estimated 24 hours.

Correction, there are 2 AT&T fiber cuts, one near High Ridge, MO and one near Neosho, MO. This is my most recent update.

FIELD TECHNICIANS ARE CURRENTLY PULLING 2,000 FEET OF 216-COUNT REPLACEMENT CABLE BETWEEN MANHOLES IN HOUSE SPRINGS, MO. RESTORATION WILL BE DELAYED AS LOCATES ARE NEEDED AT THE NORTH MANHOLE.

During this process, there will be interruptions to your internet service, VPN connectivity and local network traffic. MOREnet staff will perform all the necessary maintenance remotely. Your presence onsite will not be required.

Brightspeed and Lumen NOC's are standing by for confirmation that excavation is underway. MOREnet NOC

The Lumen NOC has confirmed that a planned maintenance scheduled to be completed by 12:00 GMT on November 19, 2025 has exceeded the defined window. Splicing was completed; however, some services remain impacted. Field Operations has been engaged to test the affected fiber span in an effort to isolate the reason for the continued impact, and is onsite setting up test equipment. Splicers are onsite, and will remain on standby in the event that additional splicing is required.

Additional testing indicates the light signal is traveling 23.7 miles along the fiber path. The Outside Plant Engineer (OSPE) is reviewing test results and comparing them with network records to determine the location of the fault. MOREnet NOC

The splice team is working on the final three splices for the 96-count cable. Additional splicers are en route to assist with restoration on the 288-count cable. MOREnet NOC

The issue has been identified and a fix is being implemented.

Damage has been located and vendor will start repairs as soon as splice crews are on site. No etr has been given by fiber provider.

Vendor has completed some spices and expects to be hands off at 10am CST.

The end provider has confirmed that they are hands off.

This is a confirmed fiber cut. Crews are actively engaged in locating the exact location of the fault for splicing and repair. No ETR given at this time.

K-Power Net has identified a suspected fiber cut in the Kansas City area causing an outage the below MOREnet circuits. Field technicians are still isolating and troubleshooting. El Dorado Springs R-II Butler R-V Davis R-XII Midway R-I Cedar County Library El Dorado Branch

Fiber damage was located and repair crews are onsite. Restoration efforts have begun but no ETR at this time.

Splicers are continuing to work to repair two damaged cables near Kansas city. No ETR at this time.

Charter is still working on tracking down the cause and implementing a fix. This has been escalated higher. MOREnet NOC

Packet loss has shown improvement. We’re continuing to work with Charter’s Carrier team to further clean up the issue and monitor results. This process will continue over the next few days as we verify stability. Additional updates will be provided as we progress. MOREnet NOC

As bandwidth increased this morning, we observed packet loss accumulating again. All data has been relayed to Charter’s NOC, and they are actively working toward a resolution. The issue has been escalated further for higher-level review. Thank you for your patience as we await Charter’s updates. MOREnet NOC

Bluebird Fiber is experiencing a network issue in Lee's Summit that is causing an outage on the below MOREnet circuits. Bluebird techs are still investigating the issue. No ETR. Circuits: Ballard R-II Trails Regional Library Holden Branch University of Central Missouri KC Circuit

Bluebird has isolated the area of fiber damage. Splicers are en route with ETA 2 hrs. Construction crews also en route with ETA 3 hours.

Splice crews are on site and identified damage to the fiber in front of a newly-installed residential driveway. Construction crews are expected to arrive shortly. No ETR.

Crews on site have exposed both ends of the fiber break and will begin pulling new fiber in soon.

New fiber has been pulled in, both sides are being prepped for splicing.

Crews continue splicing with no ETR. Services should begin restoring as splicing continues. Construction crews are hands-off, however splice crews remain on site and continue splicing.

Technicians advise trenching is nearing completion. Fiber is currently being pulled west. There is no update on ETR as of this update. MOREnet NOC

Sites: Gallatin R-V Winston R-VI Outage: thorughout the window Description: The vendor has updated SW on network devices. Work has been completed however one of the devices upstream of Winston/Gallatin didn't not recover and a technician has been dispatched to boot/troubleshoot that device. Needless to say, this maintenance window has been extended.
