University System of Georgia experienced a minor incident on September 20, 2025 affecting UGA Data Center (Boyd), lasting 1d 22h. The incident has been resolved; the full update timeline is below.

University of Georgia (UGA) has started their scheduled data center fuse panel maintenance in the Boyd building. It appears some devices did lose power. Communications Consulting Group (CCG) is investigating. Updates will be posted here as they become available.

One or more cabinets on the lower section did lose power. It appears that the power to the cabinets have been restored as well as the respective services. Power work is still on going as the PeachNet optical gear is still on redundant power.

After monitoring the situation, Information Technology Services (ITS) has confirmed the stability of network access at Boyd Data Center. The system should continue operating normally.
