Network Outage - Gordon State College

   Communications Consulting Group (CCG) is reporting that Gordon State College (GOR) is currently down. Both fiber paths into Barnesville (GOR) are down. Accelacom has been contacted, and they are seeing the same thing on their equipment. AGA is investigating. Additional information will be posted here as it becomes available.

   We are continuing to investigate this issue.

   The campus is back up, but there is still a fiber span issue between Gordon and Forsyth. Accelecom is still working on getting information from their vendors.

   Local fiber provider reports this is an emergency maintenance. 96 ct Fiber cable along the rail was cut by unpermitted digging. This cable is sitting on the side of RR tracks, and we need to get it underground as soon as possible in order to avoid an additional outage. This will require RR support so we cannot cancel once onsite. The existing fiber will have to be cut and pull a new 96ct. Services should be restored by 06:00.

   Repairs have been made, and the span between GOR and FOR is back up. Although we have not gotten the "hands-off", all associated alarms have cleared, and services have been restored.
