Spotify Outage History

Hey folks! We're currently looking into an issue that is affecting some of our services and you may have noticed some things looking out of order on your accounts. In case you're experiencing login issues, odd changes to your subscription status, you're having troubles with account deletion or other services, this is likely related to the current situation.

Hey folks, We're receiving reports where the app is showing different errors (103, something went wrong) mostly on the desktop but other clients seem to be affected as well. The relevant teams are aware of this situation and working on a fix. Stay tuned.

We’ve been receiving reports from Android users on 9.1.56.571 who say that the Spotify mobile app won't play on their devices. The Play button only appears as loading or just doesn't play, while there is no error message. The progress bar doesn't move, but the green animation bars next to the track name are moving as if it's playing. There is no sound coming out as well.

We've received reports that the Home page on the desktop app and Web Player doesn't load and instead displays the following error: "Something went wrong. Search for something else?" This seems to occur only with the " All " section of the Home page - switching to "Music" or “Podcast” for example works properly.

Hey folks! You may have noticed that the Autoplay feature doesn't queue up further songs from the playlist/ album you have started the playback from. This is being looked into; we'll keep you posted.

We're seeing reports from users that self-created playlists (including Liked Songs) won’t load on Android devices. This mostly seems to be happening to Samsung devices, both on mobile and tablet.

We’ve heard from some users that Local files in the Liked Songs playlist can’t be removed and appear greyed out.

We've received reports that after the CarPlay display shows the previous track’s album cover instead of the current one.

We've received reports that saved tracks on users' playlists in DJ platforms or software like Serato and Rekordbox fail to load or are missing.

We're seeing reports that the Support Site isn't working. Some are seeing the error message "This page got tripped up".

Hey folks! We've been made aware of reports from Android users indicating that Spotify Connect experiences issues showing available Google Cast /Chromecast speaker devices. This is being looked into.

We're seeing reports in multiple Community threads from users experiencing playback issues. This seems to happen on a variety of devices, both on mobile and desktop.

We’ve received reports from iPad users where the Now Playing view is completely black and doesn’t show anything when switching from another app to Spotify.

We're seeing reports from users whose Discover Weekly playlist is blank, empty or just missing entirely. Attempting to open the playlist results in a "This content is no longer available" error.

Users are reporting that they're experiencing issues with Search within Spotify and are getting a 'Couldn't find this' error. This is happening on different devices in EU countries.

We've received reports from some users that there's stuttering and playback issues on desktop. Music plays for 8-9 seconds, and then the track skips with no sound. This seems to only affect the desktop app.

We’ve recently received reports from users noticing that the Custom Order sorting option is missing inside folders on both Android and iOS.

We’re receiving reports from users unable to access their Liked Songs. The playlist either appears empty or is missing entirely from Your Library across devices. In some cases, users report seeing fewer tracks than expected.

We've been getting reports from Premium users that when a song finishes, it doesn’t automatically move on to the next one, it just stops. For some users, it prompts them to play while they’re offline. This seems to happen on a variety of devices.

We're seeing reports from users who are not seeing the Smart Shuffle option in their playlists.

We've received some reports about Basic plans users who noticed they're getting ads and their accounts appear as Free on the mobile app, but the account overview does show they're Premium. We're currently investigating this behavior.

We're seeing reports that users are unable to watch podcast videos when using the Web Player https://open.spotify.com/ - episodes can be played as audio-only.

Hey folks! We have several reports from users with audio issues while streaming on their TV. The sound occasionally cuts out and pauses for a brief second, then resumes back to normal. This happens sporadically and based on the examples we’ve got, the issue doesn’t occur if the users are watching a music video - it seems to happen when listening to audio only. Most reports are coming from Samsung TV owners who are certain that this isn’t caused by their network connection. Other apps on the TV don’t exhibit this behavior, only Spotify.
