Resolved after 1 hour 54 minutes, affecting Imaging, on February 26, 2016.
Expense was intermittently unavailable. Users experienced errors or slow processing when attempting to attach or view receipts. The cause of this disruption was due to an issue with the file storage system. During a series of extended file read operations, Imaging resources were exhausted due to the failure of other operations to release those resources back to the system. The service was unable to recover gracefully, which caused the performance degradation. To prevent reoccurrence, shorter timeout values for resources will be implemented to remove the blocking issue which was experienced during this event. If a similar issue arises, the shorter timeout period will ensure resources are quickly unblocked, preventing any degradation for the Imaging service. Alarms for high resource consumption will be paired with short-term high response time delta detection and instantaneous latency readings between Imaging and its file storage systems
