We would like to inform you that we are currently observing an increase in the number of transactions remaining in a pending status. Our initial investigation indicates that the issue is related to an intermittent communication disruption between the processing bank and the Interac network, which is impacting the timely completion of some transactions. As a result, certain transactions may take longer than usual to receive a final status update. Our technical and operations teams are actively working with our banking and network partners to investigate the root cause and restore normal processing as quickly as possible. At this time, we recommend monitoring pending transactions and avoiding any manual intervention unless specifically advised by our team. We will continue to provide updates as more information becomes available. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your patience and understanding while we work to resolve the issue.

We identified a technical issue causing intermittent failures for customers attempting to complete Interac e-Transfer® Request Money payments via TD Bank. The issue specifically occurs during the hand-off between the Interac Gateway and the banking institution's authorization portal. While the majority of our payment processing remains healthy, we have implemented a temporary configuration change to our payment flow to ensure customers can successfully complete their transactions through alternative selection methods. The impact is limited to the Interac e-Transfer® Request Money feature for customers using TD Bank. Internal analysis indicates that a subset of payment attempts involving this specific combination of service and institution failed to resolve correctly. Customers using other financial institutions are not affected by this issue.

The root cause has been identified as an intermittent connectivity failure within the communication layer between the Interac Gateway and TD Bank's authorization systems. As this issue persists regardless of which banking partner is used to generate the transaction URL, the point of failure has been confirmed to be external to our immediate infrastructure. We are currently sharing telemetry data and relevant logs with our banking partners to support Interac in further investigating and pinpointing the exact source of the issue. We have observed that Interac’s systems has started to recover. Transactions initiated since 09:35 AM EST are completing successfully for both deposits and withdrawals.
