We're aware that users signing up or resetting their password through our Pay SDK may experience delays or non-delivery of SMS verification codes. We have not observed impact to merchants integrating directly with our API. Our team is actively investigating the root cause and will post updates as we have them.

This incident has been resolved. The root cause was identified as an issue at a downstream provider, which was inadvertently filtering certain one-time passcode SMS messages. The downstream provider has confirmed the issue is resolved on their end, and we have verified normal SMS delivery for Pay SDK verification codes. No further action is needed.

Starting at 15:05 CT the Pay API began responding with 5xx level errors. This is due to unclosed stale database connections from the API workload computes accumulating and eventually maxing out our connection pool. At 15:10 API workload compute started decreasing tasks and closing database connections. API impact hit a maximum of 6% of all requests. At 15:30 API impact is less than 1% At 15:37 Last 5xx level error was detected

Starting at approximately 4:31 AM CDT on July 16, 2026, US mobile carrier networks began filtering SMS messages containing "Aeropay," causing delivery failures for messages used in user sign-up and phone verification flows. We deployed a workaround at approximately 12:32 PM CDT, and successful delivery rates returned to above 99%. We are actively working with carriers to reach a full resolution.
