Some Residents may be encountering a notice that their account has a past due balance for a recurring fee (such as a membership subscription) due on January 6th, 2026. We’ve been able to confirm that some pending balances were not settled fully due to a pause in the overnight billing process. Fortunately, any balances that weren’t fully settled should be processed as usual when the overnight billing process runs on Wednesday evening (January 7th, 2026). These unsettled balances should have no effect on any Second Life accounts or activity, but affected Residents may opt to pay the balance due directly on the Account Dashboard at SecondLife.com if they wish. (Did you know? Second Life’s delinquency policy has a 30 day grace period. You can read more on our Official Policy Page at https://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Linden_Lab_Official:Delinquency_policy)

We want to apologize for an issue that affected Product Listing Enhancement (PLE) charges on the Second Life Marketplace earlier this month. Between October 8th and October 28th, the system responsible for billing PLEs did not process charges as expected. When the issue was corrected on October 28th, charges for that entire period were processed all at once. We understand this may have caused confusion and inconvenience. We're very sorry for the disruption. Our teams have identified the underlying cause and are working to ensure the billing system remains stable and accurate moving forward. This follows an earlier issue in August, when some users were charged incorrectly. We know that repeated billing issues are frustrating, and we take them seriously. We're continuing to improve our monitoring and safeguards to prevent similar incidents in the future. Thank you for your patience and continued support as we work to make the Marketplace more reliable for everyone.

Our developers are currently investigating a recently discovered issue which may affect some scripted HUDs & attachments worn by Residents in regions running on the Second Life RC BlueSteel and Second Life Preflight release channels. In some cases, scripts within HUD objects may not function correctly. We're investigating this issue and hope to update with more information soon. Some regions on the RC BlueSteel and Preflight server channels may restart while we investigate these issues overnight. We're very sorry for the inconvenience and please follow this blog for updates.
