Today at 12:27pm CT there was a brief impairment on one side of the fiber ring between Omaha and Lincoln. This caused all traffic between Omaha and Lincoln to reroute through redundant connections. At 12:40pm CT our backbone network performed an automatic reversion which caused traffic to reroute again. End users may have seen slight delays or packet loss as traffic rerouted. Questions 402-472-7656 Toll Free 888-638-6327 (1-888-NET-NEBR) or [email protected]

The Network Nebraska router in Kearney experienced a card failure at approximately 5 PM CDT. Network Engineers troubleshot this extensively with on-site resources and vendor support and determined that a card must be replaced. At present time, connectivity to Scottsbluff is in a simplex state until this issue has been mitigated. There is no direct impact to member traffic at this time, traffic successfully failed over to redundant connections. Multiple sites, via Great Plains Communications, dropped yesterday from 9:35am to 11am, 11:35am to 11:37am, and 2:10pm to 2:50pm. GPC states that a core router within their network had issues forwarding traffic in a way that didn't allow for circuits to be rerouted automatically. They rebooted the router twice yesterday to resolve the issue and after the 2nd reboot they decided to perform emergency maintenance to replace the device. GPC completed that work early this morning. All sites have been stable since 3pm CT yesterday.
