We’re aware that some customers have experienced delays sending and receiving email today. This was caused by a fault on part of our mail filtering platform, which affects shared and reseller hosting and customers using our spam filtering service. Our engineers have stabilised the platform and delayed mail is now being delivered. We’re continuing to monitor it closely and will update this page when we’re confident it is fully resolved. There’s no need to contact us about delayed email. We’re sorry for the disruption this has caused.
- resolved Oct 12, 2026, 08:39 PM UTC
The incident earlier this morning was traced to a DNSSEC key-signing change implemented by ICANN over the weekend. This affected DNS resolution on the SpamExperts nodes, resulting in timeouts and delays in email scanning and delivery, which ultimately led to server overload. The issue has now been fully resolved, and all services are operational and functioning normally. We apologize for the disruption and any inconvenience caused.

- identified Sep 08, 2026, 12:08 PM UTC
The server is not responding to remote restart attempts and our investigations have identified a sudden hardware fault. On site engineers have found the server to be in a non-bootable state. Initial investigations indicate a power related hardware fault impacting the server itself. We are continuing to diagnose it and are assessing remedial options, including restoring services to alternative hardware. We do not have a restoration time yet, and faults of this nature can take some time to resolve. We will provide an update as soon as we have more information, and again once services are back online. We are sorry for the disruption that this is causing.

A further update on this server. We are continuing to work through all recovery options to restore service, but as this is an issue at the hardware level, it is taking some time. For context, we have experienced multiple near-concurrent hardware failures affecting different servers. Some have been recovered, while others have not yet, and each is behaving differently, so we are working through them individually to find the right recovery path. Alongside this, we are working with our data centre to understand the underlying cause. This server remains a priority and our engineers are actively working to restore it.
- identified Jun 23, 2026, 03:53 PM UTC
A positive update on this server. It is now responding and has booted. Our engineers are working through some final networking and verification steps to bring it fully back into normal service, which we are hopeful will be completed shortly. We will confirm here as soon as the server is fully restored and verified. Thank you for your continued patience throughout this extended incident.

This server is now back online, and we have verified it is fully operational and reachable. We’re sorry this was such a long incident. It stemmed from a complex hardware issue at our data centre with a number of moving parts, and our engineers have been working on it intensively throughout to bring the service back online safely. We will share a fuller update in due course. In the meantime, if you notice anything that doesn’t look right, please let us know and we will investigate. Thank you for your patience.

We will provide further updates as soon as more information becomes available. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your patience.
- identified Jun 19, 2026, 08:54 AM UTC
Our investigation has identified this as a hardware-level issue on the physical node hosting the Mercutio server. Our engineers are working directly with our data centre to resolve it, and remediation is actively underway. In parallel, we are preparing contingency measures so that we can restore service promptly should the hardware fault require it. We’re treating this with the highest priority and will provide a further update shortly. We apologise again for the disruption and thank you for your continued patience.
- identified Jun 19, 2026, 09:23 AM UTC
We have confirmed that the disruption affecting the Mercutio server is due to a hardware fault on the underlying physical node, which has not been recoverable in place. We are now migrating the server onto standby hardware that we keep on hand for exactly this kind of event. This is a hands-on hardware operation. The storage from the affected node is being transferred across to healthy hardware, with all data and configuration preserved intact. It will take a little time to complete, but it is actively in progress and is our priority. Thank you for your patience while we work to restore full service.
- identified Jun 19, 2026, 10:18 AM UTC
Our engineers are still in the process of handling the hardware replacement, and will provide further updates as this progresses. This is being worked on as our top priority, and we appreciate your patience as we work to resolve this outage.
- identified Jun 19, 2026, 11:21 AM UTC
Restoration of the affected server onto replacement hardware is now nearing completion. We are bringing the service back online and verifying it is fully operational and stable before we confirm the incident resolved. We expect to confirm full restoration shortly and will post a further update the moment we have verified the service is stable. We appreciate your patience while we complete this safely.
- monitoring Jun 19, 2026, 11:22 AM UTC
The server has been restored onto replacement hardware and we have verified that services are fully operational and stable. This was caused by an unexpected hardware fault on the underlying physical server. Faults of this nature are uncommon, and recovery involved bringing replacement hardware online, validating it, and carefully migrating data across. We are continuing to monitor and are sorry for the disruption and the time it took to resolve safely, and we thank you for your patience. If you notice anything not working as expected, please open a ticket and we’ll be glad to help.
- resolved Jun 19, 2026, 11:38 AM UTC
All services are operational and the incident is now considered resolved. Please open a support ticket should you have any ongoing issues so we may review.
