Discount Ninja Outage History

Incident Summary A hotfix deployed on March 3, 2026 at 6:00 PM ET introduced an issue affecting the checkout flow for some new customers. Under certain circumstances, the discount applied at checkout could be removed when a customer entered their email address during checkout. This behavior was related to a change intended to prevent discounts from being applied after a customer signs out of their account. Resolution The issue was identified and corrected on March 4, 2026 at 8:50 AM ET. Current Status The fix has been deployed and checkout behavior has returned to normal. We will continue monitoring to ensure consistent operation.

A performance problem affecting the product data impacted promotions of a subset of merchants using Discount Ninja between 7:35PM CET and 11:25PM CET.

From January 9 to January 13, an intermittent issue in the cache layer of our backend services resulted in reduced performance of the Promotion API for a subset of Discount Ninja merchants. The root cause was identified as a cache node malfunction. We have implemented improvements to the cache layer to increase resilience and ensure stable performance going forward.

We identified the root cause of the performance degradation as a timeout in a background process affecting accounts with a large number of promotions. The issue has been resolved, and system performance is fully restored.

Cloudflare reports the issue has been resolved. Update - We are continuing working on restoring service for application services customers. (Nov 18, 2025 - 13:35 UTC) Update - We have made changes that have allowed Cloudflare Access and WARP to recover. Error levels for Access and WARP users have returned to pre-incident rates. We have re-enabled WARP access in London. We are continuing to work towards restoring other services. (Nov 18, 2025 - 13:13 UTC) Identified - The issue has been identified and a fix is being implemented. (Nov 18, 2025 - 13:09 UTC) Update - During our attempts to remediate, we have disabled WARP access in London. Users in London trying to access the Internet via WARP will see a failure to connect. Traffic to the Admin UI of the app has now also been rerouted to AWS. All features of the app are available again as of 5:55 PM EST.

An issue with stale cache caused some products to be associated to incorrect collection data. This results in problems with the application of collection-based promotions. Timeline: The problem was detected on June 5th at 11:30AM CEST. A fix was deployed shortly after. All cache is up to date as of June 5 at 17:30PM CEST.
