Update timeline

  1. investigating Dec 23, 2025, 10:21 AM UTC

We are investigating an issue where Copilot is not recording calls made on the Microsoft Teams platform.

  2. identified Dec 23, 2025, 11:29 AM UTC

Our engineering teams have identified the issue and are implementing a fix. We will provide another update once the fix is fully deployed and verified.

  3. identified Dec 23, 2025, 01:52 PM UTC

The team is still actively working on a fix for the issue where Copilot is not recording calls on the Microsoft Teams platform. Calls made during this time may not be recorded. We will provide another update as soon as more information is available.

  4. identified Dec 23, 2025, 03:08 PM UTC

We are rolling out a partial fix to re-enable Microsoft Teams call recording in Copilot. This fix is intended to restore recording and prevent further loss of calls. Users may still experience delays in call processing. To avoid delays, we recommend that a call participant manually end the call when it finishes. The team is continuing to work on the remaining issues and a full fix. We will provide another update once the final resolution is deployed.

  5. identified Dec 23, 2025, 08:01 PM UTC

Customers should continue to follow the current instructions. Microsoft call recordings are now restored, and the team is actively working to bring all features back online. Further updates will be provided once the resolution is fully deployed.

  6. resolved Dec 24, 2025, 09:32 AM UTC

Microsoft Teams call recording in Copilot has been restored.

  7. postmortem Jan 07, 2026, 03:47 PM UTC

Starting on December 20, 2025 at 06:24 UTC, Copilot was unable to record calls made on Microsoft Teams. Calls themselves were unaffected, but recordings were not captured or stored. A Microsoft Teams UI update introduced a regression that broke Copilot’s recording integration. Additionally, an issue was found where Copilot could not reliably detect when a call ended. On December 23, 2025 at 22:21 UTC, we deployed a fix restoring Teams call recording and added a default timeout to ensure recordings end correctly. After monitoring our systems to make sure everything was operational, the incident was resolved on December 24, 2025 at 9:30 UTC. For the impacted customers, calls scheduled during this period were not recorded.
