    At 8/18/2025 5:00 AM PT, the team became aware of an issue with connectivity to our Core Platform service affecting some customers. During this time, users may be experiencing intermittent issues within our system. Our team is actively investigating this issue and to mitigate the issue. We will provide another update within the next 30 minutes, or sooner if additional information becomes available.

    Okta Engineering is continuing to investigate service disruptions. During this time, users using certain ISP providers may experience connection timeouts when attempting to reach Okta domains. Customers can try connecting via a mobile hotspot or an alternative network provider, which may allow those users to reach Okta domains. We will provide another update in approximately 30 minutes, or sooner if additional information becomes available.

    The following is the RCA summary for a recent incident where a third-party provider experienced an issue that impacted users using Okta services. Timing: Incident start: August 18, 2025, at 4:06 AM PDT Incident resolved: August 18, 2025, at 11:29 AM PDT Detection: Customers began reporting that their organization's page was unreachable for certain users. Impact: A subset of customers experienced an "ERR_CONNECTION_TIMED_OUT" error when attempting to access their Okta organizations, which prevented them from logging in. Root Cause: A third-party Internet Service Provider experienced an issue that impaired network traffic from their infrastructure to certain other services, including those provided by Okta. This disruption primarily impacted connectivity for Google Fiber customers in the Texas region, though other providers and locations may have also been affected. The third-party provider later resolved this issue.
