We have identified the cause of an issue where some SharePoint Online backup jobs are failing to complete for a subset of customers. The issue is caused by a change in Microsoft’s SharePoint CSOM API that is being rolled out progressively. Microsoft has acknowledged the issue but has not provided any information about the timing of a fix. All existing backups are safe and unaffected. Backups of other data sources are running normally. New SharePoint Online data may not be backed up for affected customers while the issue persists. We are actively working on a resolution and will share further updates as soon as new information becomes available.
