Is Georgia Tech IT down?

The GlobalProtect Clientless VPN portal is experiencing degraded performance. Users can successfully authenticate to the clientless portal but are unable to reach any websites once connected. The Network Security Team is actively troubleshooting the issue. The GlobalProtect VPN Client is unaffected and is the recommended workaround.

The GlobalProtect Clientless VPN portal has been restored. Users should now be able to authenticate and access websites through the portal as expected. Please note that the service is currently operating without full redundancy while the Network Security Team works with the vendor to identify the root cause and restore complete failover capability. A further update will be provided once the service is fully operational. The GlobalProtect VPN Client remains available as an alternative if you experience any issues.

An emergency repair to the Coda datacenter cooling system began at 2 PM on Wednesday to avoid a reoccurrence of yesterday's failure (5/26). While no outage to PACE services is currently expected, PACE has paused scheduling new jobs on Phoenix, ICE, and Firebird in case of an unexpected cooling failure during the repair. New jobs will remain queued until the repair is complete. Visit https://status.gatech.edu for updates.

The repair was completed successfully, and job scheduling has resumed on all PACE clusters. No failure occurred, so running jobs were not disrupted. The datacenter team is monitoring the cooling system.

Due to a water leak the network in the building will be disconnected until the issue is corrected. This includes wired and wireless networks.

Network team and facilities are currently on site assessing the situaion to determine when the equipment can safely be brought back online.

The water leak issue for the Whitaker building has been resolved, but further evaluation will need to be done to determine if any hardware will need to be replaced and to determine what hardware can be brought back online. We will provide more updates as we receive them on this issue with the Whitaker building.

The cooling system in the Coda datacenter research hall has failed. All PACE compute nodes (Phoenix, Firebird, and ICE) have been shut down to avoid overheating. All running jobs have been cancelled, and no new jobs can start. Storage remains available via Globus, login nodes, and OnDemand.

The enterprise hall, hosting login and storage nodes, remains cooled. Investigation of the issue is ongoing.  Impact: All running jobs have been cancelled. Cooling has been restored to the datacenter. The PACE team is powering on all clusters and will complete validation testing before releasing the systems.

Cooling has been restored to the Coda datacenter after a valve repair. ICE has now returned to service after testing. Phoenix & Firebird are being prepared for resumed service. Please resubmit any jobs that were cancelled due to the outage.
