Date: May 22, 2024 Time: 2:00 PM CEST Summary: Today, Uniqkey experienced an incident that caused our extension API to go offline. The issue occurred during preparation for planned maintenance but was unrelated to the maintenance itself. Instead, it stemmed from human error. What Happened: On May 22, 2024, at 2:00 PM CEST, we initiated a scheduled maintenance window to implement PgBouncer, a lightweight connection pooling solution for our PostgreSQL databases. This update aimed to improve our services' overall performance and reliability. Cause of the Downtime: During the preparation phase for the maintenance, an unplanned and unintended change was made to our infrastructure. Specifically, a modification was applied to our failover cluster configuration, leading to an unintended DNS change. This change was not part of our scheduled procedure and resulted from human error. Impact: Fortunately, this incident affected only a few users. We are very sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused. Thank you for your understanding and patience as we work to prevent such issues in the future.
