CoinGecko incident
New: Crypto Fear & Greed Index & Ticker Sorting Change
Ongoing since 06:33 AM UTC, affecting CoinGecko Pro API and CoinGecko Public API.
New Feature — Crypto Fear & Greed Index: Read the market’s mood alongside price data, without pulling sentiment from a separate source. /global: new fear_and_greed_index object with the current index value and sentiment (e.g. 44, fear). Available on all plans, including Demo. /global/fear_and_greed_chart: historical index data at daily granularity, from 14 August 2024 onwards. Available on Analyst plan & above. More details: changelog Change — Ticker Sorting: Effective November 2, 2026, tickers sort by volume_desc by default, following the ticker trust score deprecation. New last_traded_at sort options are also available. Applies to /coins/{id}/tickers, /exchanges/{id}/tickers, /exchanges/{id} (top 100 tickers) and /rwas/{id}/tickers trust_score_desc and trust_score_asc are no longer offered. Requests that still pass them won’t error, and the default volume_desc order applies. Action needed: If your application relies on the default ticker order, set order explicitly or update your code to handle the new order. More details: changelog
