The intermittent connectivity observed over the weekend, 06/06/26 – 07/06/26 which caused some loss of connectivity to the Sentinel Cloud has been confirmed to be a Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attack. Fortunately, our Out of Hours team identified the problem quickly and managed to stop the attack. The external attack has come from a foreign nation whose intent is believed to disrupt UK business operations. Our Secure Internet Firewalls managed to fend off the threat until it was understood and suppressed. We’ll continue to monitor environment and provide further updates if necessary. This forms a stern reminder that security must be a priority and not a ‘nice-to-have’. Sentinel maintains our Cyber Essentials Plus certification which ensures that we’re ahead of potential threats.
