May 20, 2026, 09:05 AM UTC
Duration
4d 22h
Affected: Xeon Virtual Servers
Timeline · 3 updates
  1. investigating May 15, 2026, 10:36 AM UTC

We have detected a very high I/O delay on xeon01. At the moment, we suspect that the issue may be related to unusually high resource consumption caused by individual customer VMs. We are currently analyzing the situation in detail to identify the exact root cause and take appropriate action. Further updates will follow as soon as more information becomes available.

  2. identified May 16, 2026, 10:24 AM UTC

We have identified the root cause of the high I/O delays on xeon01. The issue is related to the currently installed datacenter SSDs, which are not sufficiently suited for the actual workload requirements of this cluster. The system is currently using Samsung SSDs. Unfortunately, this limitation could not be fully validated in advance, as the level of performance growth and resource utilization exceeded our original projections. To restore stability and improve performance, the existing drives will now be replaced with new NVMe SSDs. This upgrade is expected to significantly improve both I/O performance and overall system stability. Further details regarding the maintenance process will follow shortly.

  3. resolved May 20, 2026, 09:05 AM UTC

There will be no further updates here. All future information and status updates will now be published exclusively at: https://status.dataflair.net/incidents/1#update-2

Affected: EPYC Virtual Servers
Timeline · 2 updates
  1. investigating Jan 29, 2026, 06:59 PM UTC

A few hours after closing the previous incident, continuous monitoring and customer feedback indicated that the read/write performance of the RAID subsystem on epyc01 (FC cluster) is below expected levels. We are currently conducting a more detailed analysis to identify and permanently resolve the underlying cause of the I/O latency. Further updates will be provided as soon as new information becomes available.

  2. resolved Mar 04, 2026, 08:19 AM UTC

Unfortunately, we have not yet been able to identify the exact root cause of the issue. However, we suspect that the problem may be related to general performance limitations of the older hardware installed in this node. As a result, this node will be prioritized for decommissioning, and the affected customers will be migrated to the new Xeon systems to ensure a more stable and performant infrastructure. Further details will be provided as the migration progresses.

  2. investigating Jan 08, 2026, 07:25 PM UTC

We apologize for the lack of transparency in this incident. Our team is currently making every effort to restore the affected system. Unfortunately, it appears that we are dealing with a severe failure, which is preventing the system from returning to a stable operational state at this time. Further updates will be provided as soon as more information becomes available.

  3. identified Jan 10, 2026, 09:02 AM UTC

On the underlying host of the VDS platform, an unplanned storage/system outage occurred at our infrastructure provider. As a result of this incident, the host was permanently deprovisioned. Because this specific platform did not provide integrated snapshots or backups, we regret to inform you that the data stored on the affected system cannot be recovered. We are in the process of provisioning a replacement server immediately. In addition, we have already planned the implementation of our own backup and disaster recovery (DR) mechanisms for this product line to significantly reduce the risk of a comparable incident in the future. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused and appreciate your understanding.

  4. resolved Jan 15, 2026, 01:20 PM UTC

  1. investigating Nov 07, 2025, 07:15 PM UTC

We are beginning the migration of Ryzen and high-end root servers to firstcolo FRA4. Starting today at 20:00 CET, voluntary customers can already be migrated to the new location. Please note that the server’s IPv4 address will change, but in the meantime, you will receive an upgraded CPU — AMD Ryzen 9 9950(X3D). If you wish to migrate, please open a support ticket in the customer panel with the subject: "Server Migration – Status" Requests will be processed gradually, and there will be no additional costs. The full migration of all nodes will begin on Monday, 10.11.2025, at which point migration will be mandatory.

  2. investigating Nov 11, 2025, 09:26 PM UTC

Almost all customers have now migrated from the high-end root servers (based on EPYC Genoa). We are migrating the last few and will then provide new resources for the next migrations.

  3. investigating Nov 18, 2025, 09:45 AM UTC

The migration of the remaining servers will begin today.

  4. investigating Nov 19, 2025, 09:20 PM UTC

Today we are beginning the migration of the remaining Ryzen VDS servers, specifically: ryzen7950x3d-2 ryzen7950x3d-3 Some of these servers will be upgraded to the new AMD Ryzen 9 9950X (3D) CPUs, while others will continue running on the AMD Ryzen 9 7950X (3D), depending on available space. Please note that during this migration, the IPv4 address of each server will change. For customers with multiple servers, the number of IPv4 addresses you have booked will remain the same after migration—you will receive an equivalent number of new IPs. Once the migration is complete, affected customers will receive a brief notification email. The new IP addresses will then be available in the customer panel.

  5. investigating Nov 21, 2025, 11:36 AM UTC

Due to technical issues with the Ryzen03 node, we had to temporarily pause the migration process. The problem has now been fully resolved, and the migration will continue tonight from 10:00 PM. Customers who would like to be migrated in advance from ryzen7950x3d-2 or ryzen7950x3d-3 are welcome to contact us via our ticket support. Please note that, as part of the migration, both your IPv4 and IPv6 addresses will be changed. Thank you very much for your understanding and patience.

  6. resolved Dec 28, 2025, 10:51 AM UTC

We are closing this incident for the time being. The next migration wave will begin shortly; further details will be communicated in a separate thread to maintain clarity and transparency. Additional information will follow soon.
