Cause Schoolyear, the secure exam environment some schools use with Ans digital tests, had an outage on its production servers between 12:25 and 12:41 CEST (Schoolyear incident (https://status.schoolyear.com/history/inci_SlBkZj8pofeu8o)). That outage affected Ans and slowed the platform for all users, including those not using Schoolyear. Impact Pages loaded slowly or timed out for about 15–20 minutes. Students taking a digital test through Schoolyear may have been unable to start or continue their test during this time. Resolution Ans recovered at 12:32 CEST once Schoolyear’s traffic returned to normal, and Schoolyear confirmed their fix at 12:41 CEST. Next steps An outage at Schoolyear should not slow down Ans for everyone. We are investigating how it could have such an effect on the platform and what we will change to prevent it from happening again. We will share a post-mortem with our findings once the investigation is complete.
