Following the disclosure of critical security vulnerabilities impacting cPanel/WHM and CloudLinux systems, we proactively initiated the recommended mitigation steps and updates to secure the server. As the server was running on an older operating system stack (CentOS 7 / CloudLinux 7), the update process encountered unexpected filesystem issues, particularly affecting the root (/) partition. As a result, certain system-level and database files became inaccessible. Based on our investigation so far, there is no clear indication of an external breach or unauthorized access. The issue appears to be related to filesystem instability during the patching process on the legacy environment. Current Status: The server is currently in rescue mode to prevent further impact. We have successfully recovered approximately 80% of the most recent data (including files from yesterday’s backup). The primary backup directory on the server was also affected during this incident. We understand the critical nature of this situation and sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused. Our team is working with the highest priority to restore services as quickly and safely as possible.
