    _**What happened?**_ On Wednesday, May 18th at approximately 12:35pm EST, the Mend Development team observed intermittent slowdowns in site functionality and API responsiveness. _**Why it happened?**_ Some queries related to an automated batch appointment checkout process that started at approximately 12:20pm EST began to hang, resulting in increased execution time and delayed API responses for related queries. _**What did we do to fix the issue?**_ The automated batch processing and integration messaging systems were paused. Integration messages were paused at 1:05pm EST and were resumed at 1:21pm EST. All integration messages that should have occurred during the pause immediately began to reprocess when the integration messages were resumed. _**How will we prevent the issue in the future?**_ A long term fix will be developed to optimize processes for batch checkout processes.
