Google experienced a minor incident on August 20, 2026 affecting AdMob and AdMob (global), lasting 10d 20h. The incident has been resolved; the full update timeline is below.

We're investigating reports of an issue with AdMob. We will provide more information shortly. The affected users are able to access AdMob, but are seeing error messages, high latency, and/or other unexpected behavior. AdMob rewarded ads fail to play video and instead show a large play icon on Android apps. There is currently no workaround.

AdMob service has already been restored for some users, and we expect a resolution for all users in the near future. Please note this time frame is an estimate and may change. The affected users are able to access AdMob, but are seeing error messages, high latency, and/or other unexpected behavior. AdMob rewarded ads fail to play video and instead show a large play icon on Android apps. Engineering has deployed a mitigation. There is currently no workaround.
