Update timeline

  1. identified Feb 16, 2018, 03:33 AM UTC

Our data center is currently experiencing a DDOS attack that is affecting all of our sites. This is a networking issue at the data center level that is out of our control and affecting thousands of sites around the world. The high-level security team at the data center is addressing the issue. We currently have no ETA for when Rackspace will have the issue resolved. We'll keep you posted.

  2. identified Feb 16, 2018, 04:05 AM UTC

Rackspace has informed us that sites will be up and down throughout the night as they work through the DDoS issues. We will continue to post updates as they become available.

  3. identified Feb 16, 2018, 09:57 AM UTC

Rackspace has informed us that tonight's DDoS attack (distributed denial-of-service attack) was targeted specifically at us (or one of our clients' websites). Therefore, at 11:45pm CST on Thursday, our primary IP had to be taken down in order to eliminate the DDoS attack. We have been exploring options with Rackspace throughout the night, but unfortunately, the standard protocol for DDoS attacks is to ride them out. This typically means leaving the IP address offline for at least 24 hours, which means that all of our sites will likely be down until at least late Friday night. We are so sorry for the trouble that this attack is causing you and we will continue to remain diligent in working with Rackspace to explore options to try and alleviate the attack sooner so that we can restore all websites. We will post an update Friday morning. Thanks for your prayers and patience as we ride out this unfortunate attack. You can learn more about DDoS attacks here: http://ecatholic.us/ddos

  4. monitoring Feb 16, 2018, 03:40 PM UTC

All websites have been temporarily restored as we wait to see if the DDoS attack has subsided. Please note that it is possible that sites will be disabled once again if the DDoS attack has not fully subsided. No action is required at this time; we are actively monitoring the situation and will post a new update as more information becomes available.

  5. resolved Feb 16, 2018, 04:38 PM UTC

The DDoS attack has subsided and site operations are back to normal. We will continue to closely monitor the situation throughout the weekend. Please contact our support team If you experience any other issues. Thanks for your patience and prayers.
