Update timeline

  1. investigating May 15, 2024, 02:57 PM UTC

Following last night's incident, we are investigating an issue with bike statuses. In particular, we are seeing an unusual number of bikes with Stolen status, likely due to disruptions in kiosk messaging. We recommend restarting all kiosks remotely via the Kiosk grid to reset the bike status for any affected bikes. We will follow up soon with additional information and guidance.

  2. monitoring May 15, 2024, 07:51 PM UTC

We are monitoring the current bike status situation across BCycle systems. We continue to recommend kiosk restarts as well as redocking bikes at 3.0 docks as the most effective ways to bring any errant bike status back to normal.

  3. monitoring May 15, 2024, 10:17 PM UTC

We are seeing system recovery, but continuing to monitor for further issues. We continue to recommend kiosk restarts as well as redocking bikes at 3.0 docks as the most effective ways to bring any errant bike status back to normal.

  4. resolved May 16, 2024, 09:23 PM UTC

This incident has been resolved. Thank you to the operations teams for supporting the recovery with kiosk restarts and station visits.
