  1. investigating Dec 14, 2020, 08:42 PM UTC

We have gotten a few reports of performance or connection issues for client accounts housed on one of the remaining few retired v.1 platform. We are working to identify and resolve the issue, but we have no ETA. Note: Please remember this platform has been end-of-life/retired for close to 5 years now. We provide limited support, and no SLA on any accounts on our v1 platform. Please visit https://portal.arcustech.com/kb/platform-details-and-upgrade-process/ for the steps to upgrade to our v2 platform. If you have any questions please contact our support team at [email protected].

  2. identified Dec 14, 2020, 09:56 PM UTC

The issue was identified as a failing RAID cache. Staff are replacing the raid card fully, and once completed will run some data integrity checks that will take some time to complete. These v.1 systems are not NVMe/SSD based systems, so drive sub-system performance is far from optimal. We will not attempt to restart any client VPS systems until the data integrity checks are completed. As reported earlier no ETA available.

  3. resolved Dec 15, 2020, 01:31 AM UTC

All affected customer VPSs are back online. If you are still having any issues please let our Support Team know. Note: Please remember if you were impacted by this incident you really need to review our Knowledge Base entry on migrating your service off of our retired v1 platform and on to our modern v2 platform and modern, fully supported Ubuntu OSs. This will not only get you back on a fully supported virtualization platform, but also a modern Ubuntu supported operating system with full security and bug fix patches.
