  1. identified Aug 08, 2025, 05:43 PM UTC

Between 9PM on August 7th PST to 10:20AM on August 8th PST, Snowflake imports failed temporarily, resulting in delayed data ingestion. No data was lost during this period. We fixed the root issue at 10:20AM, new imports should be functioning now. We are currently working on recovering the failed imports, will provide an update shortly.

  2. monitoring Aug 08, 2025, 06:00 PM UTC

The failed imports are currently being reprocessed. Recovery time will vary from a few minutes to several hours depending on import size. We’ll provide another update once all re-imports are complete.

  1. investigating Aug 06, 2025, 01:00 PM UTC

Since 2025-08-06 04:55 PT (11:55 AM UTC), we are aware of an issue in session replay ingestion in the US cluster EU should be unaffected. Amplitude users may notice an absence of session replay data from the past 1 hour. Our team is actively investigating the source of the issue and will work to deploy a fix. There is likely some data loss; we're working to identify the issue and remediate it at this time. We will provide the next update in an hour.

  2. investigating Aug 06, 2025, 02:24 PM UTC

Our session replay servers started to reject ~10% of the session replays being sent to Amplitude starting 4:55AM PT Aug 6 2025. All of our customers in the US cluster are impacted. We are also experiencing lags while processing the session replays at this time. We are trying to recover our underlying clusters or failing over to a new one. Expect a new update in the next hour.

  3. identified Aug 06, 2025, 02:57 PM UTC

We have switched to a new underlying queuing cluster underneath as of ~7:31 AM PT. So customers at this time shouldn't be seeing any new 5xxs on the session replay tracking endpoints, and the processing for these new session replays should be back to normal. There are session replays sent between the period of 4:55 AM PT - 7:30 AM PT that might be missing or not processed yet. We're working to recover as many of them as possible. Heatmaps were also affected as they rely on the same session replay ingestion infrastructure.

  4. monitoring Aug 06, 2025, 03:46 PM UTC

Session replay since 7:30 AM has been stable. We're still looking into the root cause of the issue between 4:55 AM PT - 7:30 AM PT and how to recover non-processed data.

  5. monitoring Aug 06, 2025, 05:32 PM UTC

Session replay should be processing as normal since 7:35 AM PT. We're keeping this incident open while we figure out how to recover the session replays sent during the incident. Efforts for that are underway. We'll provide the next update once we have a better sense of the timeline there.

  6. resolved Aug 07, 2025, 11:02 PM UTC

All Session Replay services are now fully operational. While we will continue implementing additional improvements in the coming weeks to further harden the ingestion system, the system is currently stable and functioning as expected from a customer perspective.

Duration
1h 39m
Affected: Data ProcessingData Export
Timeline · 3 updates
  1. identified Jun 21, 2025, 05:32 AM UTC

We are experiencing internal latency when importing customers' data since 2025-06-20 6:30 pm UTC. For customers using Data Warehouse Import and Cloud Storage Import, export time to Data Warehouse and Cloud Storage integrated services is elevated (up to 4 hours delay). The root cause is identified and the remediation is applied. We will keep monitoring the recovery.

  2. monitoring Jun 21, 2025, 05:59 AM UTC

We are still monitoring the recovery. Delays are under 1 hour currently.

  3. resolved Jun 21, 2025, 07:12 AM UTC

We have successfully mitigated the root cause of the internal latency affecting Data Warehouse Import and Cloud Storage Import. Data processing and export delays have returned to normal levels, with all systems operating as normal. We will continue to monitor to ensure stability.
