outgoing email is being blocked by Amazon AWS
SonoSuite experienced a critical incident on January 14, 2022 affecting Core, lasting 1d 5h. The incident has been resolved; the full update timeline is below.

Amazon AWS, our hosting provider, has blocked our outgoing email temporarily. We are working with them to restore it as soon as possible. Beyond the lost email notifications, this will block newly registered users, or the users resetting passwords, from getting the activation email. Workaround for that is activation by an admin.

Problem has been solved by Amazon AWS support and email is being sent normally. Sorry for the inconveniences caused during the incident.
