   We are aware of an unexpected outage impacting the below nodes in our Ashburn datacenter location: ASH135KVM, ASH122KVM, ASH124KVM, ASH131KVM, ASH137KVM, ASH138KVM, ASH127KVM, ASH129KVM, ASH133KVM, 7950XASH106, ASH115KVM, ASH116KVM, ASH117KVM, 7950XASH100, 7950XASH101, 7950XASH104, ASH112KVM, ASH102KVM, ASH110KVM, ASH104KVM, ASH105KVM, ASH101KVM We are currently looking into this matter further with the onsite team, and will provide additional updates on this matter once we have more information. UPDATE 11:30 AM ET: There appears to be a facility level power issue in Ashburn affecting multiple tenants within the facility including some of our racks, and this is currently being addressed. We appreciate your patience and will update this status incident once additional information is available. UPDATE 1:30 PM ET: We continue to coordinate with the on-site team regarding the facility-level power issue, which is impacting a section of the datacenter and multiple tenants, including some of our racks. Restoring service remains our priority. We do not yet have a confirmed restoration ETA, and we will share further updates as information becomes available. A more detailed explanation will follow once the incident is resolved, and we will also be sharing the RFO as soon as we receive it from the facility. We understand the disruption this is causing and sincerely appreciate your continued patience. UPDATE 4:30 PM ET: Restoration efforts remain ongoing at the Ashburn facility, and we continue to coordinate with the on-site team for updates. An on-site staff member at the building has provided a preliminary estimate of restoration by approximately 9:00 PM ET today. This estimate has not yet been confirmed by facility management and remains subject to change. We are sharing it in the interest of transparency while awaiting confirmation and further details. Ashburn has historically been a stable location for our services, and an incident of this duration is highly unusual in our experience there. We recognize the significant disruption this is causing and sincerely apologize for the extended downtime. We will continue sharing verified developments as they become available, including any changes to the preliminary estimate. Once the incident is resolved, we will also share the facility’s official RFO when received. Thank you for your continued patience. UPDATE 8:15 PM ET: We are seeing partial restoration in Ashburn, with some affected nodes now back online. There are still about a dozen nodes that are still inaccessible, so this incident is not yet fully resolved. We are still working with the onsite team to power on the remaining servers, and we are also attempting to find out more information such as if the facility maintenance is considered completed yet. We will update this status incident once additional information is available. UPDATE 9:15 PM ET: All Ashburn nodes are now back online, and service has been restored. We sincerely apologize for the extended disruption and appreciate your patience throughout the recovery. IMPORTANT - FURTHER ASHBURN MAINTENANCE ANTICIPATED: Our datacenter provider in Ashburn has advised that electrical maintenance will continue for the rest of the week to complete substantial, specialized work on the facility’s power delivery system, with the goal of addressing power stability issues and supporting reliable operation over the long term. Because the maintenance requires a de-energizing process, the infrastructure affected today is expected to lose power again beginning at 7:00 AM ET tomorrow, Wednesday, October 7. Customers on the affected infrastructure should prepare for another interruption, potentially lasting much of the day. We do not yet have a confirmed restoration time. The facility has also advised that additional electrical work is scheduled throughout the rest of this week. We are still seeking details on the schedule and the extent to which that work may or may not affect our Ashburn services, and we will share confirmed information as it becomes available. We continue to ask the facility whether these interruptions can be avoided or reduced. In the meantime, we want to be transparent about the information available and provide customers with an alternative. If service continuity is important to you during this period, we recommend contacting our support team as soon as possible to arrange a VPS migration to another datacenter. With all nodes now online, migrations can proceed. We currently have availability in several of our other datacenter locations, such as New York and Los Angeles, and these migrations are available at no additional charge. None of our other datacenter locations are affected by this incident or the upcoming Ashburn maintenance. A migration completed before the next interruption will allow your VPS to avoid that interruption and the subsequent Ashburn maintenance periods. So please open a support ticket and request your VPS to be moved to another location if desired (your VPS IP would need to be changed if you opt for a migration). Today’s outage in Ashburn has been resolved, but as we understand it, the broader facility electrical maintenance is not complete. We will publish separate status incidents for the upcoming maintenance periods and share further details as they become available. We sincerely apologize for the disruption and uncertainty this creates. Following our review and once everything is fully concluded, we will communicate details regarding credits/compensation, and share the facility’s official RFO once received.
