**Root Cause Analysis:** On November 19th, 2025, starting at approximately 03:23 AM EST and lasting until around 5:05 AM EST, Qlik Cloud – AWS – US East \(N. Virginia\) experienced an outage. Several Qlik Cloud functions were unavailable or degraded. A core backend service experienced a failure that led to an outage. This occurred during routine after hour maintenance, which included service upgrades. During the process, a third-party backend service did not come back online as expected after being reinitialized, preventing it from assuming its normal role and causing the backend service to become unavailable. **Resolution and Remediations:** After escalation and support from the third-party vendor, several recovery actions were attempted but were unsuccessful. Ultimately, a full reset was performed, which restored the backend service, resolved the incident, and brought all services back to normal operation. The underlying root cause of why the backend service failed and could not fail over is currently under investigation with the third-party vendor. To further enhance platform resiliency, Qlik is continuing to collaborate with the vendor to improve the failover mechanism, optimize operational procedures, and increase overall reliability. Additional testing and validation will be conducted to ensure similar issues are mitigated more effectively in the future.
