Update timeline

  1. investigating Jan 09, 2024, 08:51 PM UTC

We are investigating reports of issues connecting to our outbound endpoint smtp.mailchannels.net

  2. monitoring Jan 09, 2024, 09:23 PM UTC

The issue seems to be due to a DNS change and should resolve itself as the change propagates through the global DNS. Please try flushing your DNS in the meantime.

  3. monitoring Jan 09, 2024, 09:23 PM UTC

We are continuing to monitor for any further issues.

  4. monitoring Jan 09, 2024, 10:02 PM UTC

MailChannels entered an incorrect field into a DNSSEC DS record for mailchannels.net, causing name resolution errors. The incorrect DS record was promptly removed from the DNS; however, because of DNS caching, it may take some time for this change to propagate to the entire DNS. Please purge any DS records for mailchannels.net; our registrar (GoDaddy) is already publishing the correct record set and this should bring things back into operation. We are continuing to monitor this.
