   Status: Investigating We are experiencing elevated error rate on our POST /api/v1/customers API endpoint. Our team is investigating and working to resolve this. We will provide updates as we learn more.

   Status: Identified We are seeing an increase in errors on customer creation. The error is affecting customers with EU taxation. We've identified the root cause. The European VAT number verification tool (https://ec.europa.eu/taxation_customs/vies/) we use in our EU Tax module is currently unavailable. Our application is built to gracefully handle errors from this service but the service is currently returning an undocumented and unexpected response. We are preparing a fix for this issue.    Status: Monitoring We've deployed a fix and are monitoring the service to ensure that there is no further impact. Affected components API (Partial outage)

4. resolved Feb 14, 2026, 09:11 AM UTC

   Status: Resolved The incident has been resolved and the service is fully operational again. The European VAT number verification tool (https://ec.europa.eu/taxation_customs/vies/) is still unavailable but we are now gracefully handling the errors. Customers with EU taxation will be created properly but invoice taxation for those customers might be delayed until the European VAT number verification tool is available again.
