Update timeline

  1. identified Jun 01, 2023, 04:39 PM UTC

We are experiencing an issue on one of our search clusters, which has fallen behind. As a result, moderation items are taking longer to appear in the Search and Item Log of the web app, and to show up in GET /ads responses. Automated moderation as well as manual moderation (moderation queues) are unaffected. We are working to resolve this issue as soon as possible. No data will be lost.

  2. monitoring Jun 01, 2023, 05:13 PM UTC

The issue has been pinpointed to a recent optimization that turned out to be detrimental to indexing performance. We have rolled it back and search cluster is quickly catching up.

  3. resolved Jun 01, 2023, 06:24 PM UTC

This incident is now resolved. All search indexes have caught up and are up-to-date (most of them were up-to-date about an hour ago, at around 17:30 UTC). We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.
