We had an incident this morning that triggered our performance monitoring. The issue was caused by an increased nightly job load that didn't finish during the night and so were running during business hours. This caused increased load and some sluggishness for specific pages. Our monitoring was a bit over-eager and triggered our SLA due to an outlier data-point, so we've adjusted our monitoring to trigger based on a moving average over 3 minutes rather than a single data point. We've also prioritized some database performance fixes that should mitigate this issue in the future.
