Update timeline

  1. monitoring May 21, 2017, 12:57 AM UTC

FireNet engineers have been alerted to a link failure between Melbourne and Sydney. Customers would have noticed higher latency during this period as the link was flapping and would not fail-over. FireNet engineers have disabled this link and latency issues have been resolved as it is now using alternative routes. No further customer impact should be experienced during this outage. Updates to follow

  2. monitoring May 21, 2017, 02:52 AM UTC

The carrier has informed us that the issue was related to a hardware fault which caused increased latency due to incorrect path routing. We are just waiting for a confirmation that the fault has been resolved. Updates to follow.

  3. resolved May 21, 2017, 05:15 AM UTC

Carrier has confirmed fault has been resolved. Traffic has been moved back onto the link.
