There was a connection issue between our database and application servers. The servers are now operational but we are still monitoring.

There was a DNS timeout upstream that caused the DNS between the application server and database to become unresponsive and timed out. Does not seem to be an issue with configurations or recent update. We will continue to monitor the issue but outage seems to have been corrected by rebooting the servers. AWS reported “intermittent DNS resolution failures”.
