We have identified latency issues for some users using our Hosted Exchange related to the DDOS attack on DynDNS that has impacted many other websites and services outside of Digerati's Hosted Solutions. Digerati's Hosted Exchange has not been impacted directly, and is only affecting users who are using DynDNS. This cyber attack has garnered national attention with stories similar to this one: http://www.cnbc.com/2016/10/21/major-websites-across-east-coast-knocked-out-in-apparent-ddos-attack.html. We will continue to monitor DynDNS's status page and update here accordingly. We will also provide an update when the DDOS attack affecting DynDNS has been resolved.

We continued monitoring this issue throughout the day yesterday and overnight and it now appears to be resolved. A Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attack is a malicious attempt by a human or human created software to deny users access to a service of some sort through the use of a distributed, coordinated attack. The goal is to overwhelm the target's computer system and make it no longer available for service for the valid visitors. By flooding traffic to a target as quickly as possible, that will overwhelm the Internet connection and prevent valid visitors from accessing it. In total, there were 3 waves of coordinated attacks with over 10 million distributed connections.
