Update timeline

  1. investigating Jan 16, 2023, 01:12 PM UTC

We are currently experiencing an unscheduled service interruption. At this time, users will not be able to log in to their AWeber account and web forms are being intermittently impacted. Automated and scheduled messages are sending, new subscribers are being added, and landing pages are working as expected. Our team is working to resolve the issue. We will provide updates as they become available. We apologize for the inconvenience and thank you for your patience.

  2. investigating Jan 16, 2023, 07:24 PM UTC

We are continuing to work to mitigate a distributed denial of service attack on the account management portion of our website. No account data is at risk, they are simply flooding the site with thousands of requests per second and we’re working as rapidly as we can to tune the bot detection algorithms to only reject the bad requests and not also catch real users. Automated and scheduled messages continue to send properly, new subscribers are being added, and landing pages are working as expected. All other systems besides account logins are working properly at this time.

  3. identified Jan 17, 2023, 12:03 AM UTC

We've made a number of changes to the bot detection algorithms and account logins are currently working again. Automated and scheduled messages continue to send properly, new subscribers are being added, and landing pages are working as expected.

  4. monitoring Jan 17, 2023, 06:25 AM UTC

Account logins have been stable for more than six hours and we are seeing no additional issues. We are continuing to monitor the situation to make sure no new issues arise.

  5. resolved Jan 17, 2023, 07:16 AM UTC

This issue has been resolved and all operations are normal. We appreciate your patience.
